What is the Schumann Resonance?
In 1952, the German physicist Wilfried Otto Schumann discovered that the cavity between the earth and ionosphere acts as an electromagnetic resonant cavity. Energized by electrical discharges (lightning), very low frequency resonances are created around the earth. The lowest frequency (the fundamental) has a frequency of only 7,83 Hz which corresponds with a wavelength of 38,000 km/24,000 miles (the circumference of the earth is about 40,000 km/25,000 miles). The ionosphere protects us against harmful radiation from the sun and from out of space, there are indications that the so-called Schumann Resonance plays a role in this. On the earth, mankind is creating more and more high frequency radiation. RFI (Radio Frequency Interference) and EMI (Electro Magnetic Interference) will pollute your A/V set and, according to certain people, also your listening room and your body. |
What does it do?
The newly generated 7,83 Hz wave by the SCHUMANN RESONANCE PLUG will counteract the effects of this radiation. With the SR PLUG, you will notice a clearer sound with a richer timbre, more details, a deeper soundstage and a more powerful and dynamic sound.

For best results, we advise to position the wire antenna vertically in the middle between your loudspeakers. Most practical way to do so, is to attach the antenna to the wall behind them. Under most circumstances, the middle position of the level adjuster is the most pleasant one, but feel free to turn it up a little more, in which case you'll hear more detail and precision. However, you may notice a slight decrease in timbre, but this will mainly depend on the set used, the listening room and your personal preferences.

I feel very happy with “my” sound: wide, deep, open, transparent, tidy, rich, dynamic. I can hardly imagine anything better downside a 5 figure high-end exotic monsters. At least - until this weekend.
*Step 1: turned potentiometer down to zero, plugged SR and here-we-go. I’ve chosen Hail-the I Dub compilation: a heavenly production, clean, clear and tidy.
*Step 2: turn clockwise to 9 o’clock. Apart slightly deeper bass (illusion?) I did not notice audible differences.
*Step 3: potentiometer turned to 11 o’clock. Wow! Bang! The bass got “edge”, the soundstage depth becomes deeper, higher, wider, naturally balanced with whole lotta “black space” between instruments. Almost holographic. Voices placed in front of drums (as it should be), colour and tidiness of voice to die for.
*Step 4: potentiometer turned from 1 o’clock to max. Too much of a good thing equals nogood.
*Back to 11 o’clock – back to heaven. The sound reminded me to the “deep listening” sessions after bong (ab)use when I was young(er).
*The last step: SR Plug switched of. The sound I’ve thought was fine. seemed - wall of sound! Plugged again. I will never unplug it again. I damn love it

Aangezien ik zowel de qa als de sns plug al jaren naar tevredenheid gebruik, was ik erg nieuwsgierig naar deze nieuwe plug van Kemp. En het moet gezegd: het resultaat is direkt hoorbaar in de vorm van fraaier hoog, meer details (ten dele hoorde ik details die ik nog niet eerder had gehoord) en een "echter" geluid. Eerst had ik uit pure luiheid de antenne ff niet uitgerolt, maar dit moet je toch beter maar wel doen: het effekt neemt er duidelijk door toe! Bij mij werkte de plug met de knop vol open gedraait het beste. Daardoor kwam ik op het idee er nog een tweede bij te kopen en inderdaad blijkt het effect zoals verwacht sterker te worden. Dit is voor mij de beste plug die Kemp ooit heeft gemaakt.

Gisteren heb ik bij mijn dealer een SR-plug op proef opgehaald. Ik heb hem meteen maar gehouden want deze plug doet inderdaad wat er in het test verslag staat. Minder ruis, de laagweergave is strakker, duidelijker afbeelding van het stereobeeld en ik hoorde meer details. Kortom een zeer verbluffend resultaat.
