The POWER BLOCK is the small version of the POWER SOURCE. The POWER BLOCK could be used as a main filter, and be combined with a power strip, but it''s much more effective to use one POWER BLOCK for each piece of equipment. If only one POWER BLOCK is used, there''ll be a mutual influence. This way, it is still possible for some digital noise from your CD-player to find its way to your amplifier, through the mains connection.
If the amplifier had had its own POWER BLOCK, this noise wouldn't have come through. This is why the POWER SOURCE incorporates several fully separated sections.


Most audiophiles only use a CD-player and an integrated amplifier to enjoy their music. For this group of listeners in particular, it is a very good solution to use two KE-POWER BLOCKS instead of one KE-POWER SOURCE, which would cost them more money. Using the POWER BLOCK 1000, there surely won''t be any noticeable degradation in dynamic performance when combined with an integrated amplifier, as could be noticed with other filters!

To prevent humming transformers in equipment, the KE-POWER BLOCK incorporates a DC-offset filter. Thus, hum from mains transformers is effectively prevented, the temperature of the transformer is kept lower, and because the transformer-core is not magnetized, the transformer is capable of delivering higher peak-currents. Due to the absence of a DC-component, the output voltage of the transformer is cleaner.
Surely, a humming transformer is undesirable, because on top of the irritating, annoying, buzzing sound, a humming transformer spreads vibrations through all parts of the chassis, and because of the micro phonic properties of the greater part of parts in the equipment, a blurring in sound and/or vision can be noticed.

The KE-POWER BLOCK is available in three different power-ratings, 75 W, 150 W and 1000 W. These power ratings are not the limit, but the proper load for each of the KE-POWER BLOCKs, in order to maximize conditioner properties.
 

The properties of the KE-POWER BLOCK are bidirectional. On one hand, the KE-POWER BLOCK rejects noise that wants to find its way from the mains to the power supply of the equipment, on the other hand it prevents noise coming from this piece of equipment to come through and find its way to all other equipment.

 

To what extent a filter works, mainly depends on the quality of the core material used in the coil, but also its size is of major importance. A core too small will be saturated even when a relatively low current flows, in the pictures you can see the proportions between our coil and the ones regularly used, even in expensive filters. Our coil incorporates a special core material, that is unique to our filters. The bigger the core, the more energy can be stored in it. The biggest increase in sonic performance can be obtained by connecting a KE-POWER BLOCK 75 between the digital equipment (CD/DVD player or DA converter) but also the rest of the equipment would benefit from it. After many hours of experimenting and listening we came to the stunning conclusion that the power cord between wall-outlet and POWER BLOCK had more influence than the one going to the equipment powered. We chose the POWER CORD PLUS because it matched best in this configuration. The built-in QA-MODULE creates an even more natural sound and the harmonic structure of the bass widens. The frequency response seems to extend to the lower regions.
