The manufacturer of DeoxIT, Caig laboratories, has been established more than 50 years ago, and is fully specialized in contact cleaning means. DeoxIT, the only contact cleaner that works on a chemical action and reaction basis, is finally available in the Netherlands at your local HiFi shop.

Dirty, corroded or oxidized contacts will bring you blurred sound and vision. When the years pass by, the contacts of you interlinks and apparatus will become more and more dirty, parially because oxigen in the air and the sweat from your fingers will have a chemical reaction with the metal parts of your connectors. This so-called oxidation causes high and non-linear resistances. This resistance will be especially high for small signals, thus preventing the crisp reproduction of tiny details.

Use DeoxIT on all interlink-connectors, mains plugs, fuses, speaker cables, switches, relays and all other contacts to ensure they are all fully clean. DeoxIT works, where other contact cleaners fail. The use of it is as simple as applying a small amount of DeoxIT, wait two minutes and wipe off the excess. Clean contacts will be the result. To keep the contacts clean, a second, preserving means should be used. For this, several possibilities exist, depending on the situation.

If your wish is to simply prevent new oxidation, then DeoxIT Gold (formerly ProGold) is right for you. DeoxIT Gold lubricates and preserves contacts, even when they are made of different metals, DeoxIT Gold stabilises the conductivity due to the fact that it molecularly bonds to the base metals. DeoxIT Gold is the only product that exhibits this feature. It doesn't matter if you combine gold and rhodium, or gold and silver, or gold and gold, any combination will be stabilised. DeoxIT Gold will work well in a non-aggressive environment like a listening room. When the contacts are subjected to salt air, extreme temperatures, high humidity or outdoor-use, you'd better choose DeoxIT Shield. The use of either product is just as easy as DeoxIT itself: apply a small amount of the product of your choise, wait two minutes and wipe off the excess. Ready!

If you wish to permanently prevent new oxidation, we urge you to try SilClear. This producht will not only prevent a quick oxidation again, it actually lowers the resistance between two cleaned metal parts by filling all the small gaps between them with tiny silver plates, which are in SilClear in great numbers. This last feature is the big difference between the Caig products and SilClear: Caig products improve conductivity by cleaning or preserving dirty metal parts, SilClear will actively lower the resistance further by squeezing tiny silver platelets held in grease between the microscopic small gaps between the connector-parts. It will create resistances far lower than those of just cleaned, brand new contacts! Especially with SilClear, new oxidation will have no chance, because all gaps will be filled with the special grease, in which the silver platelets are. Connectors treated with SilClear will be maintenance free for the next years to come.
